The oldest stone sauna in Japan with 1,300 years of history Photo:Miki Tokairin

This stone sauna, believed to be the oldest in Japan with a history of over 1,300 years, uses a traditional method where firewood is burned to create charcoal, and mats soaked in saltwater are laid to fill the space with steam. There are two types of saunas: the "nuru-i hō" (around 90°C) and the "atsu-i hō" (130–160°C). Guests experience the sauna in a unique style, wearing clothes and shoes while covering themselves with blankets.
